Amber Kivisto, M.Sc

Amber began her career as a Registered Nurse, graduating with honours from Confederation College. She then went on to obtain her Master’s degree in Biology from Lakehead University. Currently, Amber is a PhD candidate in Environmental Biotechnology at Lakehead University. She has taken a hiatus to pursue the development of BioNorth Solutions. In her spare time, Amber enjoys time with her family and friends, her dogs, and anything in the water.
Dr. Miranda Lock, PhD
Co-Founder & Chief Science Officer
Miranda has over 20 years of experience in applied microbiology and in working with a diverse group of microorganisms. She obtained her MSc. in Applied Microbiology, followed by a PhD in Environmental Biotechnology, from Lakehead University. Miranda currently has 11 first-authored, peer-reviewed publications from her academic career. Her huge passion for the environment stems from her love for spending time outdoors. On the weekends, Miranda can be found fishing with her husband Bryan and their young son Braydon.
Dan Bissonnette
EVP of Sales and Business Development
Dan has enjoyed a successful career spanning over 25 years in international business development and sales management. He has worked with global consumer packaged-goods giants like the Coca-Cola Company as well as with start-ups like the oncology-based VieCure. He attended both Lakehead University and the University of Manitoba on an athletic scholarship for hockey, and went on to play professionally in both Europe and North America. Dan spends his personal time with his wife Deb and their family and friends. He is also an avid runner and cyclist, and holds a love for the northern outdoors.
