Amber Kivisto, M.Sc

Co-Founder & President

Amber began her career as a Registered Nurse, graduating with honours from Confederation College. She then went on to obtain her Master’s degree in Biology from Lakehead University. Currently, Amber is a PhD candidate in Environmental Biotechnology at Lakehead University. She has taken a hiatus to pursue the development of BioNorth Solutions. In her spare time, Amber enjoys time with her family and friends, her dogs, and anything in the water.

Dr. Miranda Lock, PhD

Co-Founder & Chief Science Officer

Miranda has over 20 years of experience in applied microbiology and in working with a diverse group of microorganisms. She obtained her MSc. in Applied Microbiology, followed by a PhD in Environmental Biotechnology, from Lakehead University. Miranda currently has 11 first-authored, peer-reviewed publications from her academic career. Her huge passion for the environment stems from her love for spending time outdoors. On the weekends, Miranda can be found fishing with her husband Bryan and their young son Braydon.

Robert Poulter

Chief Business Officer

Bob is a successful international business executive with 35 years of C-suite and global business development experience in many markets including Canada, United States, the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific. He has spent the past 20 years in biotechnology as a CEO and Chief Business Officer and was instrumental in closing $500+ million in global contracts. He is also the Founder and CEO of CornerstoneCEO™, an advisory firm. Prior to his biotechnology days, Bob spent many years in IT, management consulting, and finance, having worked with many global leaders including IBM, Accenture, and RBC. Born and raised in Thunder Bay, Bob received an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree in marketing and finance from Lakehead University, along with the Gold Medal for academic excellence and the President’s Award for his commitment to the university community. In his spare time, Bob enjoys travelling to exotic locations and spending time at the lake with family and friends.
